ANGLO -SAXON CHRISTUS REVEALED

The cathedral's oldest piece of stonework will be back on display to the public in the bridge chapel after over a year under wraps due to regeneration work in the building. The Anglo -Saxon carving of Jesus Christ dates from around the 800s and is all that remains of the original Saxon monastery founded by Prince Osric and his sister Kyneburga,
